Senior FreeCAD Mechanical Engineer

What You'll Do
- Create and modify detailed parametric CAD models using FreeCAD based on defined engineering requirements
- Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies with proper component relationships and design practices
- Apply GD&T principles and DFM standards to improve manufacturability and design quality
- Generate accurate technical drawings and engineering documentation for review processes
- Perform CAD model and drawing quality assurance checks to identify errors and inconsistencies
- Develop Python scripts to automate repetitive CAD modeling and workflow tasks
- Review engineering outputs and provide structured feedback on model accuracy and design decisions
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, industrial engineering, or related fields
- Advanced proficiency with FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD platforms
- Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, assembly design, and manufacturing processes
- Practical experience applying GD&T principles and DFM methodologies
- Ability to create detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Experience reviewing CAD models for accuracy, integrity, and specification compliance
- Knowledge of Python scripting for CAD automation is highly preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate technical designs and identify improvements
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, project-based environment
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AI training data projects, CAD workflow automation, or advanced mechanical design systems
