What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end GIS projects using QGIS
- Acquire, organize, clean, and validate spatial datasets
- Perform spatial analysis and geospatial data processing tasks
- Manage coordinate systems, projections, and spatial references
- Create professional cartographic products and map layouts
- Style and symbolize map layers for clarity and usability
- Document workflows, methodologies, and technical reasoning
- Evaluate data quality and ensure consistency across deliverables
- Troubleshoot GIS workflow issues and implement effective solutions
- Communicate technical findings and project outcomes clearly
- Contribute subject-matter expertise to AI training and evaluation initiatives
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience using QGIS in professional environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage complete GIS projects independently
- Strong knowledge of spatial data formats, GIS principles, and geospatial workflows
- Experience producing high-quality maps, spatial analyses, and geospatial deliverables
- Proficiency in data cleaning, transformation, and validation processes
- Deep understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and spatial references
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to clearly explain technical decisions and workflow rationale
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Experience maintaining project documentation and process records
- Preferred: Experience documenting GIS workflows for training, educational, or research purposes
