A high-impact robotics AI initiative is seeking a hardware engineering specialist to support the development of intelligent robotic systems and real-world data infrastructure. This opportunity focuses on integrating robotic platforms, enabling advanced research workflows, and improving how AI systems learn from physical environments.

This opportunity is ideal for engineers with hands-on experience in robotics hardware integration, ROS 2, sensor systems, and software-hardware interfaces.

Candidates should have strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to work across robotics platforms, embedded systems, and data pipelines.

The work involves bringing up robotic platforms, developing reliable data collection systems, enabling teleoperation workflows, and optimizing real-time communication infrastructure. Success in this role requires strong debugging ability, engineering precision, and experience building reliable robotics systems in experimental environments.

What You'll Do

  • Integrate, configure, and maintain robotic platforms including manipulators, mobile robots, humanoid systems, and custom hardware
  • Develop and maintain ROS 2 integrations, hardware SDK connections, and custom control interfaces
  • Build scalable robotics data pipelines for multimodal datasets including RGB, depth, IMU, force, torque, and joint telemetry data
  • Develop teleoperation systems focused on low-latency control and operator usability
  • Design and optimize real-time video streaming systems using robotics and media communication technologies
  • Integrate, synchronize, and calibrate advanced perception sensors and camera systems
  • Diagnose hardware, networking, embedded, and system-level issues across robotics deployments
  • Improve automation, developer tooling, and technical documentation workflows
  • Support robot testing, deployment, maintenance, and operational reliability
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to prototype and evaluate new robotic capabilities

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in Python and C++
  • Working knowledge of C# and software development practices
  • Experience with ROS 2, Ubuntu/Linux, Docker, Git, and shell scripting
  • Hands-on experience integrating robotics hardware through vendor SDKs and hardware APIs
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, SSH, VPNs, REST/gRPC, and WebSockets
  • Experience building teleoperation systems and real-time video streaming infrastructure
  • Experience integrating and calibrating multimodal sensors including RGB, depth, stereo, and IMU systems
  • Ability to manage and process robotics datasets using storage platforms such as AWS S3 or equivalent cloud solutions
  • Strong debugging skills across hardware, software, networking, and embedded systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced robotics development environment
  • Experience supporting robot fleets in production or research environments preferred
  • Familiarity with distributed robotics infrastructure and remote diagnostics preferred
  • Experience building robotics data collection, evaluation, or simulation tools preferred
  • Contributions to robotics software, open-source projects, or research initiatives preferred
  • Knowledge of autonomous systems, computer vision, or embodied AI preferred
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering workflows or robotics research tools preferred
