Remote Gastroenterologist – Medical AI Data Specialist

A high-impact clinical AI initiative is seeking experienced gastroenterology specialists to contribute to the development of advanced decision-support systems focused on digestive health and hepatology. The work centers on ensuring clinical accuracy and safety in AI-driven diagnostic and treatment outputs.

This opportunity is ideal for practicing gastroenterologists with strong diagnostic reasoning skills, familiarity with complex GI conditions, and an interest in shaping the next generation of healthcare technology. Candidates should be comfortable working with structured and unstructured clinical data.

The work involves reviewing and annotating medical records, validating AI-generated outputs, and contributing to guideline-aligned datasets where clinical precision and consistency are critical to model performance.

What You'll Do

  • Review and annotate clinical narratives, EHR records, and endoscopy reports related to gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions
  • Identify and validate diagnoses, treatment plans, procedural findings, and clinical outcomes
  • Audit annotated datasets for accuracy and alignment with established gastroenterology guidelines
  • Evaluate AI-generated clinical recommendations for diagnostic and therapeutic validity
  • Define annotation standards for complex GI conditions and edge cases
  • Provide structured feedback to improve AI model reasoning and patient safety outcomes
  • Review AI-generated summaries, interpretations, and procedural analyses
  • Contribute to documentation, onboarding materials, and specialty-specific annotation protocols

Requirements

  • MD or DO with specialization in Gastroenterology
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Active U.S. medical license in good standing
  • Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship clinical experience
  • Experience with endoscopy, inpatient consults, and complex GI or hepatology cases
  • Strong familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards
  • Ability to interpret and structure complex clinical data accurately
  • Interest in medical AI, clinical informatics, or data-driven healthcare systems preferred
  • Availability for part-time engagement (up to ~10 hours per week preferred)
