QGIS Specialist – AI Geospatial Projects

What You'll Do
- Manage end-to-end QGIS projects from data acquisition through final map production.
- Organise, clean, validate, and maintain spatial datasets.
- Perform geospatial analysis using established GIS methodologies.
- Configure coordinate systems, projections, and spatial references to ensure data interoperability.
- Design and style map layers for clear and effective visual communication.
- Create professional cartographic layouts and explain design decisions.
- Document workflows, technical reasoning, and analytical processes throughout project execution.
- Troubleshoot GIS workflow challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Produce accurate, high-quality geospatial deliverables within project timelines.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience using QGIS in professional GIS projects.
- Demonstrated ability to independently deliver geospatial analyses and mapping outputs.
- Strong understanding of spatial data formats, coordinate systems, projections, and GIS principles.
- Experience with spatial data management, cleaning, validation, and transformation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly document workflows and explain technical decisions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities within GIS environments.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting.
- Ability to maintain consistent documentation and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
- Preferred: Experience documenting GIS workflows for training, educational, or AI-related projects.
- Preferred: Experience mentoring GIS professionals or collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
