About the Role

A frontier AI research initiative is seeking litigation professionals to support the development of advanced legal reasoning systems. The role focuses on creating high-quality litigation scenarios, evaluating AI-generated legal analysis, and improving how AI models interpret procedural and strategic legal issues.

This opportunity is ideal for attorneys and litigation professionals with strong analytical writing skills and practical experience in civil litigation environments. Candidates with backgrounds in motion practice, discovery, trial preparation, judicial clerkships, or in-house litigation support will be well positioned to contribute to complex legal evaluation workflows.

The work involves designing realistic litigation exercises, producing attorney-level reference responses, assessing AI outputs against structured legal standards, and providing detailed written feedback where precision, legal reasoning, and procedural accuracy are critical.

What You'll Do

  • Design realistic litigation scenarios involving motions, discovery, depositions, pleadings, and case strategy
  • Develop high-quality reference legal responses aligned with professional litigation standards
  • Evaluate AI-generated legal analysis using structured review frameworks
  • Assess procedural accuracy, reasoning quality, and legal consistency in model outputs
  • Provide written feedback to support iterative AI model improvement
  • Review litigation-related documents and identify analytical or factual deficiencies
  • Participate in calibration sessions and collaborative evaluation workflows
  • Document findings clearly within structured operational systems
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional judgment across assigned tasks

Requirements

  • J.D. (United States/Canada) or LL.B./LL.M. (United Kingdom) from an accredited institution
  • Licensed to practice law in the United States, Canada, or United Kingdom (active or inactive status accepted)
  • 1–4 years of professional civil litigation experience
  • Strong legal writing and analytical reasoning skills
  • High attention to detail and procedural accuracy
  • Ability to evaluate legal arguments objectively using structured standards
  • Experience in law firms, government legal departments, judicial clerkships, or in-house litigation teams
  • Comfort working independently within remote project environments
  • Availability for a minimum of 20 hours per week preferred
  • Ability to manage contract-based deliverables and deadlines effectively
  • Experience with e-discovery platforms, privilege review, or document coding preferred
  • Familiarity with litigation management or case management software preferred
  • Appellate litigation or trial experience considered an advantage
  • Background in employment litigation, patent litigation, or specialized litigation areas is a plus
