Fullstack Developer (React/Node.js) – ($60–$80/hr)

About the Role
A high-growth technology environment working at the intersection of AI and large-scale systems is opening a Fullstack Developer (React/Node.js) role focused on building and owning production-grade applications end-to-end. This is a high-ownership position where engineers are expected to design systems, make architectural decisions, and deliver reliable products in fast-moving, ambiguous environments. The role involves working across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers to build scalable systems that directly impact core product workflows.
What You'll Do
- Design and build end-to-end fullstack systems across frontend and backend layers
- Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and modern architectures
- Build performant, production-ready user interfaces using React
- Own database design, schema structure, and query optimization using PostgreSQL
- Translate product requirements into reliable and maintainable technical systems
- Maintain engineering quality through testing, reviews, and best practices
- Debug production issues and improve system reliability and observability
- Make practical engineering decisions balancing speed, scalability, and correctness
Requirements
- Proven experience building and owning production fullstack systems
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript across frontend and backend
- Solid backend development experience using Node.js (NestJS preferred)
- Experience building real-world applications using React
- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL and relational database design
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable REST APIs
- Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, or serverless architectures
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-ownership engineering environments
- Must be based in the United States and able to overlap PST working hours (6–8 hours)
