A leading AI-focused initiative is seeking experienced accounting professionals to contribute expertise in revenue recognition, technical accounting, audit, and financial reporting within a structured research environment. The project centers on evaluating and developing high-quality accounting scenarios that support advanced AI system assessment and training.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals with deep knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and practical experience analyzing customer contracts, financial reporting issues, and complex accounting judgments. Candidates should be comfortable applying accounting guidance to real-world business situations and communicating technical conclusions clearly.

The work involves creating, reviewing, and evaluating accounting scenarios, assessing revenue recognition treatments, and identifying key technical accounting considerations. Success requires strong analytical reasoning, attention to detail, and the ability to apply accounting standards consistently across diverse business cases.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze revenue recognition scenarios involving customer contracts and commercial arrangements
  • Review and assess accounting treatments under ASC 606 guidance
  • Evaluate performance obligations and contract structures
  • Assess transaction price allocation methodologies and revenue timing conclusions
  • Analyze variable consideration and related accounting implications
  • Review principal-versus-agent determinations in complex arrangements
  • Create and validate accounting case studies and evaluation materials
  • Identify technical accounting issues and document appropriate conclusions
  • Review financial reporting scenarios for compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Produce clear written explanations supporting accounting judgments
  • Contribute to AI evaluation and training initiatives through subject matter expertise
  • Maintain consistency and accuracy across accounting assessments

Requirements

  • Based in the United Kingdom with legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom
  • Strong professional background in accounting, audit, accounting advisory, or financial reporting
  • Hands-on experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance
  • Experience reviewing customer contracts and revenue recognition policies
  • Strong understanding of performance obligations and contract analysis
  • Experience with transaction price allocation and variable consideration assessments
  • Knowledge of principal-versus-agent accounting considerations
  • Experience evaluating revenue timing and recognition criteria
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical accounting standards to complex scenarios
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and accounting disclosures
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain accounting conclusions in a clear and structured manner
  • High attention to detail and professional judgment
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote contract environment
  • Availability to contribute up to 40 hours per week preferred
  • Experience within accounting, audit, or advisory firms preferred
  • Experience preparing technical accounting memoranda preferred
  • Prior involvement in AI training, evaluation, research, or data-quality projects preferred
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar technologies preferred
  • Experience with complex revenue arrangements and technical accounting advisory engagements preferred
  • Ability to receive payments through supported international payment platforms preferred
