Developmental Psychology PhD — AI Evaluation Specialist
About the Role
A high-impact AI initiative is seeking developmental psychology expertise to support the training and evaluation of next-generation AI systems. The work applies established knowledge of child development, developmental psychology, and behavioral research to real-world AI data and model outputs.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals with doctoral-level expertise or substantial research experience in child development or developmental psychology, including candidates from academic or research backgrounds without direct clinical experience. Prior AI experience is not required.
The work involves evaluating data and model responses, developing psychologically grounded scenarios and test cases, and providing structured recommendations for improving AI behavior. Accuracy, developmental relevance, cultural appropriateness, and psychological integrity are critical.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and annotate datasets related to child development and developmental psychology.
- Review AI-generated outputs for developmental accuracy and psychological relevance.
- Assess cultural appropriateness across diverse child-development contexts.
- Develop scenarios and test cases involving children's learning and behavior.
- Provide expert analysis to support AI model evaluation and improvement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams through structured digital workflows.
- Develop and refine guidelines addressing linguistic, cognitive, and psychosocial dimensions of child development.
- Document findings, evaluations, and recommendations clearly and systematically.
Requirements
- PhD in Child Development, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in child development or developmental psychology.
- Experience conducting academic, research, or evidence-based analytical work.
- Ability to critically evaluate behavioral and psychological content for accuracy and developmental relevance.
- Strong written communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, digital environment.
- Comfort reviewing and annotating structured datasets or model outputs.
- Ability to collaborate with distributed, interdisciplinary teams.
- Prior experience with technology, digital research, or AI-related projects is preferred.
