Coding Puzzle Solver — AI Evaluation

Global; Fully Remote Contract Platform: Micro1

About the Role

A structured AI initiative is seeking strong coding problem solvers to support the evaluation and improvement of advanced AI models on algorithmic reasoning, debugging, and constrained software engineering tasks.

This opportunity is ideal for technically rigorous programmers who can analyze unfamiliar problems, select appropriate algorithms and data structures, and produce correct, efficient, and reproducible solutions. Competitive programming experience is valuable but not required.

The work involves solving self-contained technical challenges, working in terminal-based environments, validating implementations, and reviewing AI-generated solutions, where correctness, edge-case coverage, and careful reasoning are critical.

What You'll Do

  • Solve coding, algorithmic, debugging, logic, and technical reasoning challenges
  • Analyze unfamiliar requirements and translate them into implementable solutions
  • Select appropriate algorithms, data structures, and optimization strategies
  • Work within terminal-based development environments and existing codebases
  • Implement efficient solutions using Python, C++, or another suitable language
  • Identify edge cases, hidden assumptions, ambiguous requirements, and failure conditions
  • Debug issues across source code, tests, dependencies, and environment configuration
  • Develop tests and verification methods for determining solution correctness
  • Review AI-generated code for logic errors, incomplete reasoning, inefficiencies, and constraint violations
  • Produce reproducible solutions suitable for automated evaluation
  • Document reasoning, implementation decisions, and technical trade-offs

Requirements

  • Strong algorithmic and analytical problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, or another general-purpose programming language
  • Strong understanding of common data structures and algorithms
  • Ability to reason about computational complexity, constraints, correctness, and edge cases
  • Experience debugging unfamiliar code or technically ambiguous problems
  • Ability to work independently in terminal-based development environments
  • Ability to produce reproducible and testable software solutions
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication
  • Availability for approximately 15 hours per week
  • Ability to work remotely with a flexible schedule
  • Preferred: Competitive programming experience, including a verifiable Codeforces profile or comparable evidence of advanced algorithmic problem solving
