AI Legal Reasoning Reviewer – Corporate & M&A
About the Role
A frontier AI research initiative is seeking experienced transactional and corporate legal professionals to support the development of advanced legal reasoning systems. The role focuses on generating high-quality legal analysis and evaluating AI-generated outputs across complex corporate and commercial law scenarios.
This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with practical experience in M&A, corporate governance, contract review, securities matters, or transactional due diligence. Candidates with strong drafting abilities, sound legal judgment, and attention to detail will be well positioned to contribute effectively in a structured remote environment.
The work involves designing realistic legal scenarios, producing attorney-level reference responses, reviewing AI-generated legal analysis against established standards, and contributing written feedback where precision, consistency, and commercial reasoning are critical.
What You'll Do
- Design realistic transactional and corporate law scenarios based on practical legal workflows
- Draft high-quality reference responses for legal reasoning and evaluation tasks
- Evaluate AI-generated legal outputs using structured review frameworks
- Assess legal accuracy, commercial reasoning, and contractual interpretation quality
- Review materials related to M&A transactions, NDAs, governance, securities, and due diligence
- Provide detailed written feedback to improve AI model performance and reliability
- Participate in calibration sessions and onboarding discussions with distributed research teams
- Maintain consistency across evaluation standards and legal review processes
- Support quality assurance workflows for legal AI training datasets
- Document findings clearly and accurately within structured review systems
Requirements
- J.D., LL.B., or LL.M. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the United States (active or inactive preferred)
- 1–4 years of experience in transactional or corporate legal practice
- Experience with contract review, due diligence, corporate governance, or securities matters
- Strong legal drafting and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze legal reasoning with precision and consistency
- High attention to detail and strong professional judgment
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Comfort operating within structured review and evaluation workflows
- Availability for a minimum of 20 hours per week preferred
- Preferred experience with disclosure schedules, closing checklists, or securities reporting
- Preferred exposure to private equity, venture capital, or fund formation matters
- Preferred familiarity with virtual data room platforms and transaction management workflows
- Preferred experience contributing to legal research, compliance review, or AI-related evaluation projects
